SM Shaikat is a renowned youth development expert, and policy advocate working in Bangladesh and beyond for about a decade.

Some of his roles include being a Youth Advisor (Asia-Pacific) of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat). Shaikat was elected to the UN-Habitat Youth Advisory Board in 2015 with votes of youths in Asia and Pacific countries.

He is also the Executive Director, SERAC-Bangladesh. He is currently serving as the Executive Director at this national level youth focused rights and development organization. In his capacity he designs programs, and supervises implementation in the fields.
